Dr. Siddharth Shah went to Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College and V.S Teaching Hospitals, Ahmedabad for his medical school training. After completing his MBBS he was offered a place to receive Paediatric training under Dr Anjanaben Shah at Civil hospital and BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. He passed his Diploma in Paediatrics (Gujarat University) and was awarded ‘Indian Academy of Paediatrics Gold Medal’ for standing first in the M.D. Paediatrics exams (Gujarat University).

To obtain further experience and skills he then moved to the United Kingdom. He joined a Higher specialist training programme in Paediatrics. He spent the first 2 years at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital working in general paediatrics, tertiary neonatology and community paediatrics. Following this he was selected to join Paediatric Neurology training and was offered a place at the large Paediatric Neurology unit in Bristol. The training programme included training in Neurology, Neurophysiology, medical care of Neurosurgery patients and also some experience in adult Neurology and Child Psychiatry. During his training he has worked at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital.

He has passed appropriate exams to obtain DCH (UK) and MRCPCH (UK). He was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatric Neurology. He has been awarded FRCPCH (UK) as a recognition for his outstanding contribution to the speciality.

He has been working as a Consultant in Paediatric Neurology at the same institute in Bristol for the last 2 years. The institute has a number of Paediatric Neurology consultants specialising in different areas of neurology.  The department has an active Epilepsy surgery programme. The department offers complex spasticity management such as intrathecal baclofen, deep brain stimulation and selective dorsal rhizotomy. There is a team of therapists for children with cerebral palsy and neurorehabilitation.

After his return to Ahmedabad he has been appointed as a Paediatric Neurologist at several leading hospitals in Ahmedabad and Gujarat. He offers his expertise at all the Paediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Ahmedabad. He has his own video-EEG laboratory. He offers a range of Paediatric Neurology Services at his own clinic in AEON building, Near Vijay crossroads, Ahmedabad.
